The neighborhood e-mail that just went out had some inconsistencies and typos in the dates for Neighborhood Planning events. So to clarify: The regular Neighborhood Planning preparation meeting for the regular stakeholder group is this coming Monday (October 7), 7pm at the Corbin Senior Center. The neighborhood-wide planning workshop, which hopes to see participation from everyone in Emerson-Garfield, is on Thursday, October 10 starting at 6:30pm at the Corbin Senior Center. Crime analysts in the Spokane Police Department have spotted an emerging trend of vehicle thefts in the Emerson-Garfield area over the last two days. How did we miss this? Last year Emerson-Garfield resident Mary Charbonneau won the Peirone Prize as part of The Inlander’s Give Guide, the alt-weeky’s annual philanthropy issue in which they highlight people who are making things better here in the Inland Northwest. The paper featured a long profile of Mary and her work with Washington Bassett Rescue. Mary is a familiar face at neighborhood council meetings, neighborhood events, and even (or especially) in the virtual ‘hood on our Facebook page….
