Apply Now for Spokane Arts Grants

Spokane Arts just launched a brand new grants program called the Spokane Arts Grant Awards (SAGA).

Individuals, neighborhood groups, organizations, heritage groups or collectives—in all arts disciplines—are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000 each. Multiple grants will be awarded.

Applications and additional information are available at this page. The application deadline is Wednesday, February 1. Awards will be announced on March 1 of this year.

Police & Community Forum on Jan. 17

All are welcome to attend a Police & Community Forum on January 17, from 6-9 pm, at The Service Station, 9315 N Nevada St, Spokane, WA 99218. Its purpose is to create an opportunity for dialogue between law enforcement and the community and to build trust.

The forums have been very helpful in opening up dialogue, and will include a panel discussion, a question and answer time with the audience, and small-group facilitated discussion.

Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend. Please feel free to share this information with others.

Spokane Police Department is holding an Enhancing the Survival Mindset (ESM) presentation for men and women on December 27. Sergeant Kendall will be teaching the community about personal safety and situational awareness.

Free Coffee and Pastry with a Cop

coffee-with-a-cop-11-2016On Thursday November 10th, there will be free coffee and pastry with a Cop at the NorthTown Mall from 10 am to 12pm in the Internet Café area which is on the north end of the mall between Buffalo Wild Wings and Kohls.

This is a great opportunity to talk to members of the Spokane Police Department about any topic that you wish in a very casual atmosphere. Come meet and build relationships with the officers who actually patrol your neighborhood.

Final Korean Food Sale of 2016 (Nov 5)

Spokane Hope Christian Reformed Church (스포켄 소망교회) is holding its last Korean Food Sale of the year on SaturdayNovember 5 from 10am to 2pm. The church’s kitchens are located on the lower level of Knox Presbyterian (806 W Knox).

The menu of ‘Seoul’ food is available for dining in or take out. It includes bulgogi (BBQ beef), spicy Korean pork, potstickers, bean pancakes, bibimbap (mixed veggies), gimbap (vegetarian sushi) and more. Their kimchi is always a favorite as well.
