As the 2013 planting season gets underway, the Emerson Community Garden is gearing up for its second year. It will be holding a work day on Saturday, April 20 from 1–4pm for all those interested in participating or just stopping by to meet the neighborhood gardeners. Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood will be holding its annual neighborhood-wide Spring Cleanup event on Saturday, April 27 between 9am and 12:30pm. It’s going to be a multi-part garbage harvest that will help you get rid of all different kinds of household waste. FYI, there’s an all-ages book club that meets every second Tuesday of each month at Corbin Senior Center [map]. The event always starts at 1:30pm and is held in the dining room.
