The Spokane Police Department invites citizens to a Police & Community Forum on Thursday, February 23 from 6-9 pm at the Salvation Army, 222 E. Indiana Avenue. The forum will consist of a panel discussion of community members and law enforcement, a question and answer time with the audience, and small group discussion. Apply Now for Spokane Arts Grants

Spokane Arts just launched a brand new grants program called the Spokane Arts Grant Awards (SAGA). Individuals, neighborhood groups, organizations, heritage groups or collectives—in all arts disciplines—are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000 each. Multiple grants will be awarded. Applications and additional information are available at this page. The application deadline is Wednesday, February 1. Awards will be announced on March 1 of this year. The 13th Annual Spokane River Clean-Up is September 17, 2016 Each year, hundreds of volunteers spend their Saturday morning picking up garbage and recyclable materials from our public lands along the Spokane River. In 2015, volunteers removed about 4 tons of debris – from High Bridge Park all the way to the University District and we sorted and recycled about a ton of the material collected.
