Upcoming Land Use Town Hall

A Land Use Town Hall will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the West Central Community Center (Newton Room), hosted by District 3 City Council members, Zappone and Klitzke. At the town hall participants will discuss development, open spaces, and growth management.
This event is open to all City of Spokane residents.

If these topics interest you, consider attending the Community Assembly’s Land Use Committee. The Land Use Committee meets monthly on the 4th Thursday of each month. Please note that the February Land Use Committee meeting will take place directly prior to the Land Use Town Hall at 5 p.m. at the West Central Community Center (Newton Room). We, the Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood, don’t currently have a Safety Committee representative – so we are sharing this information broadly. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. The last Neighborhood Safety Committee Meeting of the year will be on Wednesday, 12/27/23, from 6-7pm, at The Hive (Events room A).

Are you tired of graffiti plaguing your neighborhood as much as we are? Well, I could use the many great minds we have in our community to come together and brainstorm some solutions to our growing problem. For our presenter for the evening, we have Pollyanne Birge from the Office of Neighborhood Services coming to talk to us about some solutions that have been proposed and have shown some success in other cities and even some of our own neighborhoods here in Spokane. So, if you’re tired of seeing “SLIME” and “SKUZ” and other eye sores around the city, please come and participate in this gathering so that we, as a community, can come up with solutions to push up to the higher levels of city government. Hope to see you all there and have a safe holiday weekend!

Transportation Town Hall

Transportation Town Hall

A Transportation Townhall will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Shadle Park Library Event Space. 

Council Member Zappone and incoming Council Member Klitzke will be hosting this Transportation Town Hall, and they are interested in your transportation interests- be it as a pedestrian, cyclist, driver, or transit rider.

Winter Neighborhood Potluck and Council Meeting

Please join us for our annual Emerson Garfield Neighborhood Winter potluck this Wednesday, 12/13/2023!  

The potluck will be held ahead of our December Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood Council meeting, at the Corbin Senior Center. The potluck starts at 5pm and the meeting begins at 6pm. This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to meet some neighbors and learn more about the neighborhood council.

Please bring something pre-prepared and ready to share.
