Drug Take Back Day Event – Saturday, April 27

Shadle Prevention & Wellness Coalition is partnering with Spokane Police Department, Spokane C.O.P.S., CHAS Health, and other community partners to host a FREE Community Event. (flyer)

WHAT: National Drug Take Back Day

WHEN: Saturday, April 27, from 10am – 2pm

WHERE: Knox Presbyterian Church / Spokane C.O.P.S. North Central (806 W. Knox Avenue, Spokane, WA 99205)

DETAILS: Bring your unused and/or expired prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and other drugs to be properly disposed of free of charge.

Medications, including liquids, can remain in their original containers and labels do not need to be removed.

Medications not in their original containers will also be accepted.

Needles and/or sharps will not be accepted at this event, but information on proper disposal of medical sharps will be provided.

The first 100 participants will receive a FREE medication lock box to take home!

Spokane COPS has started a new program called Paws on Patrol, a walking Neighborhood Observation Patrol (NOP) that you can do with your dog.

  • Learn skills to keep your neighborhood safe
  • Join a group of like-minded, enthusiastic pet owners
  • Learn about community-oriented policing and make friends for you and your furry friend

There are two workshops dates to choose from:

Crime Prevention Meeting with North Central COPS – July 26, 2018

The Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood Council and Spokane C.O.P.S. are jointly hosting a neighborhood crime prevention meeting and workshop on ThursdayJuly 26 at Knox Presbyterian Church (806 W Knox). It runs from 6 to 8pm. There will be presentations from Dale Wells, the SPD resource officer for Emerson-Garfield, and Mark Sterk, who oversees safety and security for Spokane Public Schools, as well as opportunities for discussions and feedback. Whether you’ve been a victim of crime or simply want to hear directly from police officers who patrol this area, this workshop will be a great way to get informed and identify solutions.
