Photos from the Trinity Traffic-Circle Planting

Here are some photos from this morning’s traffic-circle planting at Trinity Catholic School. This is the first of two plantings that will beautify these residential traffic-calming projects on W Montgomery. With the help of teachers, parents and neighbors, the students planted coneflower (aka echinacea), blue fescue and some tall grasses that are also drought-resistant, so they’re as practical as they are pretty. Similar flowers and grasses will be planted at the circle at the intersection of Madison and Montgomery — stop…

Materials for the June 10 E-G Neighborhood Council Meeting

The Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood Council meets tomorrow (Wednesday, June 10) at 6pm in the Corbin Senior Center (827 W Cleveland). Unless the council votes otherwise, this will be the last meeting before the neighborhood-wide Summer Potluck on August 12, so it’s a good idea to attend and keep up to date on all that’s happening before the summer hiatus. The installation of the sidewalk should make it more attractive and safer for pedestrians, including many schoolchildren, who, for the sake of convenience,…

E-G Highlighted in Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living

Last month’s issue of Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living magazine had a great one-page writeup on Emerson-Garfield highlights in their “City Trek” series. Manic Moon & More, Azars Restaurant, Tossed and Found, 4000 Holes and Corbin Park all get some love. Their May issue is now the current one, but you might still be able to find a print copy here and there around town. Or you can check it out in their digital issue.
